Over a few months I had gained a network of friends online. Most were gaming buddies or people I chatted with regularly. Well, a group of my friends belonged to a clan, a internet gaming group and asked if I would design their new website.
I sampled a few of the group's favorite websites and created a template in photoshop in about two hours. My friends really liked the design and felt it was better than most of the gaming groups they had fought against. The only problem was that the talent of the scripter that attempted to convert the samples images into HTML pages wasn't skilled enough to successfully convert the pages. It wasn't a pretty sight, but I wasn't going to do all of the work for them.
The group was happy with the design and it kept me busy for a few hours on a boring Sunday.
The exercise was amusing, but I had to provide support for the group over the following weeks. I had to cut ties with the group as they became too demanding and it took too much of my time away from clients.
